Why Might You Recommend Making My Tattoo Bigger?
There are usually two main reasons: aging and anatomy.
Tattoo ink naturally spreads slightly in the skin over time. If the spacing between details is not calculated properly, those details can gradually start blending into each other. A tattoo that looks extremely sharp when it is fresh may become harder to read later and can start looking more like a dark patch from a distance.
The second reason is anatomy. A tattoo needs to follow the muscle structure, movement, and natural shape of the body. If the design is too small or does not wrap the area properly, it may not sit on the body the way it should. Even if the artist is technically very skilled, a design that fights the anatomy will usually not look as strong or impactful as you imagined.
So if I recommend making a tattoo bigger, it is usually to protect both the long-term clarity of the details and the overall flow of the design on your body.
