Too much moisturizer can keep the skin overly soft and damp, which can interfere with normal healing. It can make the area feel sticky, cause irritation, and make the peeling stage more difficult.

Use only a very thin layer when the tattoo feels dry. The skin should never look heavily coated or wet with product.
