I recommend avoiding tight clothing directly over the tattooed area throughout the healing process. Friction can irritate the skin and can also cause scabs to come off too early.

If that happens, the healing skin can be damaged and some areas of the tattoo may heal lighter or lose pigment unevenly. Loose, clean clothing is the safer option until the tattoo is fully healed.
