It depends on how active it is. A few small spots usually do not prevent us from tattooing, but I will not tattoo directly over inflamed, open, or irritated acne.

If the area has a heavier breakout, send me a clear photo before the appointment. I may recommend waiting until the skin calms down so the tattoo can be applied and heal properly.
