For the type of black and grey realism work you see in my portfolio, a full sleeve is usually planned in sections rather than trying to complete the entire arm in one continuous session.

A typical session plan is:

• Outer upper arm, shoulder to elbow: about 2 full-day sessions, usually 12 PM–6 PM
  $1,800 per day — approximately $3,600 total
• Outer forearm, wrist to elbow: about 1 extended-day session, usually 12 PM–approximately 9 PM
  $2,200
• Inner forearm, wrist to elbow: about 1 extended-day session
  $2,200
• Inner upper arm, shoulder to elbow: about 1 extended-day session
  $2,200

These are average estimates rather than fixed numbers. The final time can change depending on your arm size, the amount of detail in the design, how much background or texture is included, the subject matter, and how your skin responds during longer sessions.

A cleaner composition with larger focal elements may take less time, while a denser sleeve with multiple realistic subjects, detailed transitions, and background work may require additional hours or another session.
