Can I Drink Alcohol Before My Tattoo Appointment?
I recommend stopping alcohol at least 24 hours before your session. It usually makes the tattooing process much smoother.
If you arrive intoxicated, your appointment will unfortunately be canceled. Tattooing is a very precise process, and I believe both the artist and the client need to respect that.
If you think alcohol will help with the pain, it usually does the opposite. Alcohol can increase bleeding, which makes it harder for the skin to hold the ink while I’m working. A section that might normally take five minutes can end up taking ten, meaning you are being tattooed for much longer and the session can become significantly more painful.
