Because tattoo ink naturally spreads slightly in the skin over time. If too many tiny details are packed too closely together, those details can gradually start blending into each other as the tattoo ages.

A reference image may look perfectly sharp on a screen, but skin is not a static surface like paper or a digital image. The spacing between lines, shadows, and small elements has to be planned with future ink spread in mind.

If I remove or simplify certain details, it is usually to prevent the tattoo from becoming crowded, blurry, or difficult to read over time.
