Wear something that gives easy access to the rib or side area and that you do not mind getting stained. Loose button-up shirts, zip-up hoodies, or clothing that can be moved aside easily usually work best.

Do not wear one of your favorite shirts to a tattoo appointment. Tattoo ink can easily get on clothing during the session, and the stains are often permanent.

Also avoid tight clothing that will press or rub against the fresh tattoo afterward. Comfort and easy access are more important than dressing nicely for the appointment.
